Overwatch Open Tournament, Southeast Asia
- Registration period: Feb 16–March 8, 2023, at 9:00(21:00) p.m. ICT
- Eligible Countries and regions: Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, India and Indonesia
- Up to 64 open-signup teams are eligible for registration in each region.
- Round 1 will comprise 32 groups of 2 teams who will each play 3 matches. Teams will be randomly seeded.
- Qualifiers in each region consist of a two-stage open-signup competition that leads to a 16-team double-elimination bracket tournament to identify top teams that will qualify for each region’s Contenders Spring Split.
IMPORTANT Notice: Please make sure to read the eligibility below before signing up. If we find any ineligibility issue (including post-match), you can be disqualified at any time by the tournament organizer.
- Players must have a Battle.net account in their name, in good standing. (Email & Legal name must match)
- Teams may have a maximum of 10 players but at least 6 must be over age 17 by the start of Overwatch League Spring Open
- Teams may have a maximum of 3 players who are under 17, and they can only compete up until the end of regional Contender programs.
- Teams must have at least 3 local residents who reside in regions listed below in their starting roster at all times: Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, India, and Indonesia
Event format:
Stage 1: Group Stage (Mar 9)
- Each region’s Group Stage will be comprised of 2 rounds
- Up to 64 open-signup teams are eligible for registration in each region. Round 1 will comprise 32 groups of 4 teams who will each play 3 matches. Teams will be randomly seeded.
- Matches will be first-to-two maps format. o Top two performing teams in each group will advance to Round 2. • Round 2 will comprise 16 groups of 4 teams who will each play another 3 matches o Team seeding in Round 2 will be determined by Round 1 performance.
- The top performing team from each group will advance to Stage 2.
Stage 2: Double Elimination Stage (Mar 10 – Mar 12)
- The Top 16 teams from Round 2 will be invited to the double elimination.
- All matches will be in first-to-two maps format until the finals, which will be first-to-three maps format.
